Dublin's cultural centre Temple Bar is to start the new year celebrating traditional Irish music.
From January 25th to 28th the district will be hosting the Temple Bar Trad Festival of Irish Music & Culture.
Besides music, with the nation's most established artists performing along with up-and-coming stars, the festival will also include other parts of Irish culture including film, dance, and story-telling.
As well as performers taking to the stage, shows will also be put on in pubs throughout Temple Bar.
The 2006 festival attracted over 20,000 people to Dublin, with visitors coming from the UK, mainland Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, and all the events were sold out.
Martin Harte, one of the organisers, said: "Temple Bar Trad is not just a festival for Temple Bar - it is a festival for the city. We believe that this high quality event has the potential to draw high numbers of visitors to Dublin in January - the quietest month of the tourism year."
